L's Pick #5 - Bardot Crop Top

Crop top

Bardot Crop Top - Topshop, £10

As it's getting closer to summer, I want to add some simple yet still cute clothes to my wardrobe, that I can pair with many different things. This top caught my eye, firstly because of it being cropped, as I wear a lot of high-waisted skirts. I also loved the nude/pale pink colour as it will go with many things as it is quite neutral. I don't own and tops that are this shape (off the shoulder) and I really love the way it looks, so this also drew me too this top.

It also shows off your collarbone, which I love. I have no simple, plain crop tops, so although this has a slight twist to it I would still consider it too be a basic piece. One way in which I would style it would be with a high-waisted skirt, oversized jacket and converse, for a really easy yet stylish look. I love pieces that are really easy to work with and style, and I feel like this is one of them.

Another way in which I would style this top could be more 'evening appropriate', as I would pair it with a midi skirt and heels for a slightly vintage look. If it's cold you could add a leather jacket on top, or anything else that you love wearing. As I said before, I think it would go with lots as it is very versatile, so the possibilities are endless and these are just a few of my ideas! I love trying out slightly different styles like this too see how they can add to my personal style!

Topshop clothes are always really good quality, and all their tops like this tend to be super soft. It's only £10, which is quite cheap for Topshop, so I think it is absolutely worth it. They also have it in many other colours, but I always tend to gravitate towards light pink tones!

What's your opinion on this off the shoulder style?

FeaturePoints App

Feature points is an app, which I recommend, where you download apps in return for points. These points can then be traded for gift cards for iTunes, Amazon or even payments to your PayPal account. The best thing is, after you've downloaded the app, you can delete it and still redeem points. A popular tumblr blog, perks-of-being-chinese , has an FAQ page if there are any questions.

To download the app use this link: http://featu.re/O7ZBML or type in this code - O7ZBML - to get 50 free points instantly when you start! Hope you like it!

All things Karen Millen!

All things Karen Millen

Recently, I have been loving Karen Millen clothes (hence
the title) and decided to post about it. The clothes they
sell are quite expensive, but I think I'm going to try and
save up for some key quality pieces to put in my wardrobe.
At the moment, they have lovely prints (especially on dresses)
and the vibrant colours would be great for summer. Overall,
I think they have some great clothes to invest in and hopefully
I can buy something from there soon!

Review - Tanya Burr Lip gloss in 'Aurora'

Recently, Tanya Burr has released a make-up collection of nail polishes and lip glosses. They have been available online for sometime, but they have only been available in Superdrug stores for a few days! I really wanted to try at least one of the products, and seeing as I have a lot of nail polish already, I decided to pick up a lip gloss.

I chose the colour 'Aurora', as I loved the girly pink colour, and I also thought the name was adorable - the colour does have a very princessy feel to it! It is a mid-toned pink, and is very wearable. It is not overly cool toned or warm toned, so I think it would suit most skin tones. It has a slight shimmer to it, but it isn't glittery, so it still has quite a natural feel to it. The gloss wears beautifully, as the colour will remain on your lips even after the glossy sheen has faded. This is really useful if you often don't have time to touch up during the day, as you don't need to worry about it looking patchy.

The gloss has quite a thick consistency, which I love as it means it stays on your lips for a long time, rather than wearing off quickly. It is not overly sticky, but is sticky enough that is stays in place. The applicator is slightly flexible making it easy to apply the gloss neatly, and unlike other lip glosses I have used, only a small amount comes out on the applicator, meaning that you don't end up using too much or wasting product. The packaging is very chic and simple, which I like.

The packaging is very simple yet chic. I am in love with this lip gloss, and hope to purchase more from the collection! If you don't know who Tanya is, she is a popular beauty guru on youtube, and she also has a blog. Her nail polishes and lip glosses were made in collaboration with Eye Candy. There are 12 lip glosses and 10 nail polishes. All the colours are really pretty, so I can't wait to try more!

If you would like to see swatches of all the lip gloss colours, she did a post on her blog including them all HERE. You can buy the products HERE, as well as on a few other websites!

50s/60s Fashion

After watching Hairspray and The Help within the same week, I feel obliged to do a late 50s/
early 60s fashion post!

Modcloth is an amazing clothing website which sells an array of different vintage styled
clothing. Sometimes with vintage clothing it looks a little out of place if you are going out
in it, however I think Modcloth’s clothing is very wearable and easy to incorporate into
your wardrobe. Also, you can find lots of vintage dresses on Etsy – some are even tailored
to your measurements! I found a website called Gin and Sin through Etsy, which I haven’t
ordered anything from but the dresses look beautiful.

A celebrity I spotted wearing this style of dress was Emma Stone on the Ellen Show. Not only
do I have fashion inspiration from her on Ellen, she’s actually in The Help so vintage fashion
inspiration came from there too!

I think when wearing your vintage dress, it's best to keep everything else simple - especially if your dress has a bright colour/pattern like Emma Stones.

Thanks for reading, let me know in the comments if you know any good places to find vintage dresses!
