I haven't done a favorite's post in a long time, as I was mainly using the same products, but now that it's got colder I have started using different things that I have been absolutely loving, and I decided to share some of them with you!
Skincare
My skincare products do tend to stay the same as I feel that changing them too much can cause breakouts and other issues with you skin, especially if it is sensitive. However, I have found one cleanser and one scrub that have really improved my skin. The scrub that I have been loving is the St Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub. It is made for sensitive skin, and like the name suggest it is very gentle on the skin, meaning you can use it daily. This gets rid of all the dead skin cells and helps to clean out your pores. I find that after using it my skin looks much more healthy and feels so much softer! My new favorite cleanser is by Clearasil and it is their Ultra Rapid Action Gel Wash. I used this after having had a bad breakout and it really helped to clear up my skin quickly, and also made my skin feel really soft, like the scrub does. This cleanser can be quite harsh, so I don't use it everyday but it has definitely improved my skin.
Another skincare product that I have been loving is Bioderma, which I did a whole other blog post on that I will link HERE. Again, I have just found that this really has cleared up my skin and I really don't want it to run out, as it is so expensive to buy in England!
Fashion
This autumn I have been really loving cozy jumpers paired with high-waisted skirts and chunky boots. My absolute favorite boots are from New Look, and they are black chelsea boots with a chunky heel (similar HERE & HERE). I love them so much as they go with everything and because of the slight heel they give me some extra height which is always good! They look great with black tights and a skirt/dress because they really elongate your legs. I feel like they help to tone down my really girly style, and add a bit of edge to a look. I have also been loving a pair of boots I got from Topshop in the sale (similar HERE). They are a taupe colour and have cut outs, and are flat. They are also made out a suede material rather than leather, making them pretty much the opposite to the other boots I have been loving. Both pairs are very comfy and they are literally all I have been wearing on my feet this past month!
Make Up
This month I have been opting for very simple make-up, and I have been loving having long, thick eyelashes. The mascara I have been using to create this effect is Benefit's They're Real! mascara. It really does lengthen your eyelashes and make them look fuller, but it isn't clumpy at all, so you can just apply some really quickly before you have to leave for work or school. The wand is amazing, and really combs through the lashes, which helps to separate the lashes. I have also found that it stays on all day and doesn't smudge on me which is great, as it stops me from worrying about whether I have mascara around my eyes or not! I only have the mini version of it, but as I'm loving it so much I think I'm going to have to repurchase the full size once I run out.
I have also been loving Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer, which I have been using alone without foundation this month. I love the high coverage and also the fact that the shades go light enough for my skin tone. Once I set it with powder it stays on my skin the whole day. I have also been using a primer underneath it, which is Benefit's "That Gal" primer. I have also been loving that as it gives my skin a glow and also helps my make up to stay on all day. It also leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth, which makes the concealer I apply on top look better!
Random
My favorite film of the month was 'Love Rosie', which I went to see in the cinema with my friend. It's a great film about the life of a girl called Rosie, who ends up getting pregnant on the night of her prom. It is a funny, romantic story, but it also has sad points as well, and I really recommend that you go and see it! Another favorite film of the month would have to be Valentines Day, which I re-watched when I was feeling ill. It again is a romantic comedy, and it's a really easy film to watch, with a lot of famous actors in it.
That's all my favorites of the past month! I hope you enjoyed this post, and look forward to more autumn-themed ones coming soon!

Review: Bioderma
Bioderma is one of the most raved about skin care products in the Beauty world, so whilst I was in France, I decided to pick some up, as it is so much cheaper there!
I ended up getting the biggest bottle that was available, as I had heard so many good reviews that I wanted to have a lasting supply. I was worried that I would be slightly disappointed with this product, just because it is hyped up so much, but once I started using it I was not disappointed at all.
It feels just like water on the skin, yet removed all of your make-up, even water-proof mascara, which I wasn't expecting. It is also very gentle on the skin, and because it works so well you don't have to tug on any areas such as your eyes to get all the make-up off. This is a definite benefit as the skin around your eyes is very sensitive, and if you pull on it to much you can get premature wrinkles. I have also used this as a cleansing water/toner, after having used a cleanser or scrub beforehand and taken off my eye make-up, and it really helped to keep my skin clear and spot-free!
I've been using it for a few months now, and it hasn't broken me out at all, nor has it irritated my skin. I was very happy about this, as my skin is quite sensitive and reacts easily to a lot of harsher projects.
However, Bioderma is quite expensive to buy in countries other than France, but if you live in or are visiting France, I would definitely recommend checking it out! If not, you could always pick up the miniature one to try it out, or use a dupe such as the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water for £4.99 - I have heard really good things about it!
I'm really sorry for the lack of posts for the past month, but we're going to be posting much more now!

Back To School: Must Haves for your bag
It is now officially back to school season, unfortunately, so I thought that it might be helpful to make a post about a few things that are necessary to take with you, to lessen the stress and possibility of forgetting things! Also a quick tip is to pack your bag the night before each day of school, with your books and such. It makes the next morning much less stressful and as you won't be in a rush, you're much more likely to take everything you need - as well as giving you a few more minutes sleep!
Back to the main point of this post - here is a list of my top things to take with you every day to school!
Back to the main point of this post - here is a list of my top things to take with you every day to school!
- Books, folders or whatever else you need for your subjects that day. Forgetting your books is just going to take away form what you learn from that lesson, as you'll have to write stuff down on spare paper that you'll probably end up loosing, so it's in your best interests to take what you need and to make everything easier for yourself.
- Your pencil case, full of any stationary you might need. Again, this is in your best interests to have as it's going to help your learning, and you might as well make the most of school!
- Pads and Tampons - there's really no delicate way to say this, but sometimes 'mother nature' may surprise you or one of your friends and it's always better to be prepared for it, as you don't want to be caught out.
- Oil blotting sheets. In summer you can get pretty oily during a whole day of school in hot classrooms, so these are good to have as they keep you looking fresh and feeling confident.
- A small make-up bag with any make-up that you might want to top up throughout the day. Things such as powder and lip balm are essentials for this, as powder helps to keep your make-up on all day and also helps to keep you matte, and it's always nice to have moisturised lips! What you put in this really depends on what make-up you wear!
- Tissues and plasters. These are just good to have in your bag, as you never know when you're going to have a cold or get a paper cut, so like I've said before, it's good to be prepared!
These are just a few things that I will always want to have handy in my school bag! Of course there's other things like house keys and your phone, but those don't need much explanation! Hopefully you found this post helpful and it's made your back to school process a bit easier!

Review: Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
I recently bought this concealer as I wanted to try something that was slightly more high-end but was still not too expensive. I was very impressed overall, and I think that it will last me a long time, as I have been using it regularly for about a month now and I have not even made a dent in it! The packaging is great too, as the lid screws on meaning that it is secure and there is less of a chance of it falling off, and the concealer getting everywhere.
I got it in the lightest shade, which was perfect for my skin tone. There are 5 shades in total, which is unfortunately not the biggest range. However, they have a very creamy consistency, which makes them easy to blend out and into your skin to give a natural look. Once blended they look like your skin is naturally clear, which is a bonus. I use this concealer on spots and under my eyes, as well as around my nose and any other areas that I want to brighten. It does crease slightly under the eyes, but if you powder afterwards and/or prime before hand, it is usually fine.
The staying power of this concealer is really good, and it will last a whole day even in the heat when powdered. I normally wear it without a foundation, but it looks really good with one too, and makes your skin look extra perfect! I would highly recommend this product, as although it is more expensive than most products on the high street, it is also of a higher quality and will last you for a very long time.
If you're still not sure, you can go to a Benefit counter in your local Boots or anywhere else where Benefit is sold, and either ask for them to try it on you or ask for a sample. It costs £17.50, and I think it is worth the price.
You can get it HERE from Benefits website!

Summer Style - Co-ordinates
This season, one of the biggest trends is 'co-ordinates', where the top and bottom part of an outfit match. I personally love this trend as I think that the matching items look very chic when put together, but they can also be paired with other items, creating a lot of different outfits.
I have found that the best place to get these matching sets is Missguided, as they are inexpensive but are still fashionable. When worn together, the items create a 'put-together' feel, and it looks as if you spent a lot of time on your outfit.
Overall, I think this trend is for everyone, as it can look cute or professional, depending on the co-ords you choose, and there are many different shapes, so there is something for every body type. Below are links to all of the sets shown above, all of which are from Missguided.
1~ Top - £14.99, Bottom - £14.99
2~ Top - £19.99, Bottom - £19.99
3~ Top - £19.99, Bottom - £19.99
4~ Top - £14.99, Bottom - £7.49
5~ Top - £19.99, Bottom - £19.99
6~ Top - £14.99, Bottom - £17.99
7~ Top - £14.99, Bottom - £17.99
8~ Top - £14.99, Bottom - £14.99
These are just some of the co-ordinates available on Missguided, and other websites such as Boohoo sell many of them as well, so be sure to check there if you don't see anything you like!

Review: Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Waterproof mascara
I recently purchased this mascara whilst it was reduced as it had only just come out. I chose to get the waterproof formula as summer is coming up so I though it would be the more sensible choice. I have been wearing this mascara for a few weeks now and I really love it. The waterproof version doesn't smudge at all.
It has a very wet formula so won't dry out quickly and doesn't clump on the lashes. It is also very easy to build up without making your eye lashes look spidery. It does make them look much fuller and longer and the colour is very black. It stays on all day and doesn't wear away in hot weather because of it being waterproof.
The wand is very bendy so it can get to all areas and means that you don't miss out the smaller lashes at the very edge. It also doesn't apply too much at once and separates the lashes whilst you apply it. Because the wand can curve it applies evenly to all the lashes and you can do it quickly without worrying too much about it
I would recommend using an oil-based eye make-up remover to take this off as it have very good staying power and using an eye make-up remover that is oil based helps it come off easily without you having to tug at your eyes which can cause people to get premature wrinkles.
This mascara is only £9.99 and I think it is absolutely worth the money, as it is just as good as some high end mascaras.
You can get it HERE from boots!

L's Pick #6 - Nude heels
Heiress Nude Heel - ASOS, £45
Nude heels are a wardrobe staple, yet I don't have a pair! I love these ones, as I love the ankle strap and mixture of fabrics in the shoes. They're also a great height, as at 5" they're not to high so that they're impossible to walk in, but are high enough to make me feel tall rather than small for once!
Nude heels help to elongate the legs, as they create the illusion that you are taller, and therefore have longer legs. These ones are quite pale, so I think they will go well with my skin tone as I am very pale also, and won't look odd against my skin like many nude colours do. Even though there is an ankle strap which can sometimes cut the leg off and make them look shorter, as they are nude I don't think they will have this effect. The strap will also help them stay on my feet, as I have very skinny ankles so struggle to keep some shoes on!
I think that they would be quite comfortable, because they have a slight platform to take away some of the height, and also have a lot of support at the back of the shoe so your foot won't slide around, which will limit the amount of blisters and pain!
These shoes are just generally very versatile, and I was thinking about even wearing some like this if not these ones for prom, as they won't clash with my dress as they are such a neutral colour. They would also work with many other outfits, as they are quite simple and not overly dressy. I really want to add more shoes to my collection in general, as I hardly have any, especially heels!

Prom Tips - Makeup!
For many people, prom is just around the corner, the light at the end of the tunnel after countless exams. I personally can't wait for my exams to be over, and I'm sure that most other people feel that way too. So in an attempt to cheer myself and other people up, I'm going to start a prom series, consisting of a few posts including tips and ideas on how the have the perfect prom!
I decided to start with make-up tips for the first post, as the last thing anyone wants is to regret their choices when looking back in photos! However, it's important to remember that as long as you feel happy and confident in how you look, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. So, these tips are just here to help with that!
- Use a foundation/concealer without SPF. In photos, it will cause your face to look really white, because flash and SPF just don't work well together! Try to find one without, as the results in pictures will be so much better!
- Take powder or blotting sheets with you. It will probably be quite warm inside as a result of the large amount of people, so being able to control the oil on your face is never a bad thing! Re-applying powder will help to ensure that the rest of your face make-up stays in place, too.
- Take whatever you're wearing on your lips with you. This may wear off pretty fast, so it's good to be able to touch it up.
- Try to use long-lasting or waterproof make-up products to ensure that they last the whole night! Using products such eyelid base or primer will also help with this. You could also use a primer on your face to help sustain your foundation and concealer, if things tend to wear off on you quickly.
- Test out your make-up beforehand. If you are unsure about how you want to do it, spend some time experimenting until you decide what you like. If you know what look you're going for practice it to make sure you love it, and if you're completely stuck you could watch some YouTube videos for inspiration.
I hope these quick tips helped!<3

L's Pick #5 - Bardot Crop Top
Bardot Crop Top - Topshop, £10
As it's getting closer to summer, I want to add some simple yet still cute clothes to my wardrobe, that I can pair with many different things. This top caught my eye, firstly because of it being cropped, as I wear a lot of high-waisted skirts. I also loved the nude/pale pink colour as it will go with many things as it is quite neutral. I don't own and tops that are this shape (off the shoulder) and I really love the way it looks, so this also drew me too this top.
It also shows off your collarbone, which I love. I have no simple, plain crop tops, so although this has a slight twist to it I would still consider it too be a basic piece. One way in which I would style it would be with a high-waisted skirt, oversized jacket and converse, for a really easy yet stylish look. I love pieces that are really easy to work with and style, and I feel like this is one of them.
Another way in which I would style this top could be more 'evening appropriate', as I would pair it with a midi skirt and heels for a slightly vintage look. If it's cold you could add a leather jacket on top, or anything else that you love wearing. As I said before, I think it would go with lots as it is very versatile, so the possibilities are endless and these are just a few of my ideas! I love trying out slightly different styles like this too see how they can add to my personal style!
Topshop clothes are always really good quality, and all their tops like this tend to be super soft. It's only £10, which is quite cheap for Topshop, so I think it is absolutely worth it. They also have it in many other colours, but I always tend to gravitate towards light pink tones!
What's your opinion on this off the shoulder style?

All things Karen Millen!
Recently, I have been loving Karen Millen clothes (hence
the title) and decided to post about it. The clothes they
sell are quite expensive, but I think I'm going to try and
save up for some key quality pieces to put in my wardrobe.
At the moment, they have lovely prints (especially on dresses)
and the vibrant colours would be great for summer. Overall,
I think they have some great clothes to invest in and hopefully
I can buy something from there soon!

Review - Tanya Burr Lip gloss in 'Aurora'
Recently, Tanya Burr has released a make-up collection of nail polishes and lip glosses. They have been available online for sometime, but they have only been available in Superdrug stores for a few days! I really wanted to try at least one of the products, and seeing as I have a lot of nail polish already, I decided to pick up a lip gloss.
I chose the colour 'Aurora', as I loved the girly pink colour, and I also thought the name was adorable - the colour does have a very princessy feel to it! It is a mid-toned pink, and is very wearable. It is not overly cool toned or warm toned, so I think it would suit most skin tones. It has a slight shimmer to it, but it isn't glittery, so it still has quite a natural feel to it. The gloss wears beautifully, as the colour will remain on your lips even after the glossy sheen has faded. This is really useful if you often don't have time to touch up during the day, as you don't need to worry about it looking patchy.
The gloss has quite a thick consistency, which I love as it means it stays on your lips for a long time, rather than wearing off quickly. It is not overly sticky, but is sticky enough that is stays in place. The applicator is slightly flexible making it easy to apply the gloss neatly, and unlike other lip glosses I have used, only a small amount comes out on the applicator, meaning that you don't end up using too much or wasting product. The packaging is very chic and simple, which I like.
The packaging is very simple yet chic. I am in love with this lip gloss, and hope to purchase more from the collection! If you don't know who Tanya is, she is a popular beauty guru on youtube, and she also has a blog. Her nail polishes and lip glosses were made in collaboration with Eye Candy. There are 12 lip glosses and 10 nail polishes. All the colours are really pretty, so I can't wait to try more!
If you would like to see swatches of all the lip gloss colours, she did a post on her blog including them all HERE. You can buy the products HERE, as well as on a few other websites!

a little out of place if you are going out

your wardrobe. Also, you can find lots of vintage dresses on Etsy – some are even tailored
to your measurements! I found a website called Gin and Sin through Etsy, which I haven’t
ordered anything from but the dresses look beautiful.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Fragrance Mist
I have wanted a Victoria’s Secret fragrance for a while, as
I have heard such good reviews about them all. I very luckily received the
Victoria’s Secret Angel Fragrance Mist for Christmas and despite it being a
while since Christmas, I decided to review it! The Victoria’s Secret website
defines its smell as ‘fruity and floral’ which I 100% agree with. Also, I have
had the fragrance for 3 months now and have been religiously wearing it every day
and the bottle still looks full! The packaging is gorgeous for the price – the bottle
fades from a transparent top into a tinted hot pink colour at the bottom. It
also has, quite fittingly, two angel wings embedded on the front of the bottle
which is a nice touch. Overall, I think it is great value for money and love the
way it is described as the ‘essence of an icon’.

L's Pick #4 - Hooded Spring Coat
Spring Coat by lamey
Hooded Spring Coat - YesStyle, £24.04
I am currently dreaming of Spring, Summer, warm weather and the end of exams, but as that is a while away, I have been keeping myself positive by preparing with a little bit of online browsing. I stumbled upon this adorable coat on an online shopping website called YesStyle, which I would 100% recommend that you go look on, as it sells clothes as well as Asian make-up, which can be hard to find in the UK!
The coat I have currently is black and is all fuzzy on the inside, which is perfect for Autumn and Winter, but I really needed something lighter for the milder months that are approaching. I also want something that is a lighter colour, as I think this really gives it a more spring-like feel. As I live in the UK, even in spring you have to wear a coat for the majority of the time, as it's still quite cold!
I also love that this coat is lined with lace, as you would be able to see it in the hood which would instantly make your outfit seem a lot more thought out and detailed! I just think that this is a really pretty coat, and would be great to throw on if your outfit is really simple. It's in a trench coat style and can be tightened at the waist, which means that it would be much more flattering, and will create a feminine shape.
I think that if I do buy this coat, I will get the pale blue colour as it would go with the majority of my wardrobe, and blue also suits my skin tone and hair colour.
I can't wait for it to be Spring, and the weather does seem to be finally warming up a bit! I just wish it would be the summer holidays sooner!

Get The Look - Cher from Clueless
Clueless - Cher by lamey
Shirt ~ H&M, £14.99
Crop Top ~ Mango, £29.99
Plaid Skirt ~ Topshop, £42
Knee High Socks ~ BooHoo, £4
Backpack ~ Pull and Bear, £29.99
Heels ~ Sole Society, £42
'Clueless' is a film that was made in 1995, which I would highly recommend watching, which is based around a girl named Cher. I love the fashion in this film, although Cher's style is not typical of that time. In 1995, many people dressed in a grunge style, but the producers of the film wanted to emulate a classy, girly yet powerful feel through the 'school-girl' like clothing.
Cher's style is quite preppy, which lots of plaid skirts teamed with blouses and blazers. She also wears a lot of knee high socks, in either black or white, which are back in style right now. I love how you can look back at old trends and see them come back into fashion many years later; it's almost like a cycle. I love Cher's style and how it's preppy, but still cute with the short skirts and heels.
For the particular outfit I chose to recreate, she pairs a red and black plaid skirt with a white shirt with a tight red crop top over the top. She leaves the skirt un-tucked, but they crop top helps to redefine her figure. The outfit is topped off with black knee high socks, a black back pack and a red hair band. The whole look feels very together, but at the same time effortless, which is why I love it!
You could either fully re-create this look for a costume or if you just really love the style, or you could take elements from Cher's style and work it into your own. For example, backpacks, plaid skirts and knee highs are all on trend at the moment, so why not add one of them into your wardrobe? I really want to get some knee high socks for the transition between winter and spring, as they will add some warmth to my legs, but will feel more spring-like than wearing tights!
Have you seen Clueless? What's your favorite 90's film?
